About Me
Susana Jones
C-IAYT, E-RYT 500, MA Integral Health
I started practicing yoga while attending the University of Colorado in Boulder. After training with CorePower Yoga in 2009, I opened a sweet yoga studio called Urban Yogi in downtown San Diego, where I developed a yoga teacher training curriculum and certified over 50 yoga teachers (RYS 200).
For my own development as a yoga teacher, I received an additional 800 hours of training with Soul of Yoga to become a certified yoga therapist. In private practice, I implemented client-focused plans of yogic self-care to address joint pain, mood instability, and general health concerns.
I specialize in identifying dysfunctional movement patterns related to peoples’ occupation and daily habits, counteracting those with yogic asana and awareness, and reinforcing healthier posture dynamics. This adds substantially to my clients’ quality of life, and helps prevent repetitive stress injuries.
Becoming a mother in 2020 rocked my world, and inspired me to work on behalf of maternal well-being during the developmentally-crucial First Five Years of a child’s life, and beyond.
My graduate research focused on wellness in early motherhood, which informs the therapeutic framework of my YouTube videos and Yoga for Mom-Life podcast.
These days I teach in-studio at Neurocrine Biosciences and CorePower Yoga Del Mar Highlands. I dedicate my work to Peace on Earth. Om Shanti.
